Welcome to I.M.P.A.C.T.’s Allen Road Home. Allen is a single level home in the country surrounded by acres of green land. Residents are able to enjoy peaceful walks with the staff, sit on the patio deck and overlook the tranquility of this country setting. On occasion, a family of deer can be seen quietly strolling in the distant woods.

The Allen Road home has a pleasant dining area overlooking the outdoor patio. A grill and picnic table are located on the patio for outdoor dining and enjoyment in the spring and summer months. Inside the home is a spacious kitchen, comfortable living room with Dish Network TV, a roomy area for washing and drying clothing and two large bathrooms with bathtub and shower capacity.

The bedrooms are carpeted and have large double sided windows and full closets. The people we serve enjoy the sun shining through the windows on bright summer days.

Each individual participates in the community on a regular basis. Some of these activities include: Ice Hawk Hockey games, Boy Scouts, church, Art in the Park, The Drum and Bugle Corp, Museum Trips, the Beatrice Thorton Art Exhibit, Country Western shows, visits to the library, the Port Huron Music Festival, Martin Luther King events, the Algonsea Ship Event, Ice Sculpture Exhibition, as well as Iditarod Sled Dog Racing team exhibits.

All our residents are encouraged to participate in volunteer activities. This enables the residents to integrate into the community comfortably and empowers them to be as independent as possible. Some of these activities include participation in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive, March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon and various recycling activities.

Within the Allen Road home, safety measures are always a priority. Special accommodations, such as strobe lights and pillow shakers, are in place for individuals with hearing impairments. The staff is trained in and maintains a functional understanding of American Sign Language (ASL).

The home serves six (6) adult, developmentally-disabled individuals and is staffed twenty-four hours a day. We are located between Marysville and St. Clair on Allen Road. Staff assists the residents with ongoing community training and individual goals on a daily basis in pursuit of their goals to achieve independence.
